I am reading the QOS book by Wendell Odom and it states that the default
hardware queue length for serial controllers is 16. It goes on to state that
when you configure any kind of queueing on the interface that it changes the
default to 2. However, when I look at the controllers on my 2811, it shows
the tx-ring set to 2, even without any software queueing configured. I am
sure that the information in the book was correct as of the time it was
published, but does anybody know if it was changed in a certain version of
IOS. Or if there are different defaults for different interfaces?
