You're right. I was convinced that some friends i have that passed the lab in 2003 got a crystal part. Not true. They got the #3
(see bellow).

I joined the 6 generations of plaques in just one jpg:

 The crystal was Juniper, not Cisco. :)

It went straight from medallion to a laminate kind of thing (I have two
of those, but was still able to order medallions at cost from the company
who used to make them).

So I have four medallions (two actually given by Cisco) and one
lead-crystal one (given by Juniper) and one laminate kind of thing
(CCDE).

The laminate came before the plastic frame, and has come back to a type
of laminate with cooler background.
