Salam,

I have a strange problem or might be i am unable to understand something...

I have 1 distribution and 1 core switch, all the vlans are terminating to
the distribution switch inshort distribution is their default gateway same
as for voice VLAN 252 its gateway is distribtution ... well the vlan 1 was
old so thats why it is spanning to the core and core is its default
gateway...

Well i have to connect one device in the voice vlan but because of running
short of ethernetports i plug this device into the core and I span the voice
vlan to the core by allowing vlan 252 on the trunk of distribution and
create vlan 252 on core and allow this in the core L2 trunk and put that
port in the vlan 252.

As default gateway of vlan 252 is in distribution and DHCP server is in vlan
1 and helper address is configured on distribution. But i dont know why that
device is not getting IP from DHCP server when i put the IP address manually
it pings everything fine but its not getting IP address from DHCP ... i know
that its not a good thing what i did but i just wanna know the reason why
this is happening ???
