That's a good question. Inside Cisco you are now "remote". That could be in
the next room or building or the other campus on the other coast. I'm not
sure how the Pearson setup is different. I'd love to see a writeup on how
it is set up but I'm not holding my breath. Right now all I know is that
I'm going to wait before even considering Pearson. Beta.
PS: I can hit my dynamips lab at home from anywhere in the world with no
issues as well. You know that crazy "Internets". :)

Just curious how something like that can happen ? As far as I know even
when
you are at Cisco the Lab is remote also. What is then the difference when
you sit at non Cisco site ?
BTW, I access my home lab from anywhere in the world with no issues :)

Unfortunately, I had one of my students attempt a Pearson center for their
exam about two weeks ago now.
It was a disaster. Not "little bumps" as someone pointed out here. It was a
pure disaster.
There was no access to any of the promised tools; DOC-CD, notepad,
calculator, but the worst part was the fact that the four switches were not
accessible. There was a flaw in the Graphical User Interface for their
access.
While it was a shame to see Cisco beta test this on live candidates, it was
nice to see them refund his money, extend his written expiration, and
provide him with a free voucher for a retake. Perhaps the most stressful
thing about it for him during the entire experience, was hearing the
resident non-CCIE proctor repeat over and over again "it is by design"
whenever he pointed out these fatal flaws. :-( The fact that he did not
completely lose his cool is a testament to his strong psychology for
passing.
