There are several ways of doing it. Here is a Cisco link. The easiest
is if you have a controller then you can type one line in to the
controller and it will pull the new IOS from a TFTP server and then boot
into autonomous mode.

I believe the 1131's with still work using the reset button too. Have a
TFTP server with an Autonomous IOS named as the default for that model
setup on 10.0.0.3. Hold the reset button while applying power. Keep
holding the button until The light turns red and then release.
Hope that helps

Subject: Re: OT- Wireless LAP to AP 1131AG-E-K9
Here is how I did it (but you need a second AP that has the code you
need)
On a working AP
ap1#archive tar /create c1130-k9w7-mx.123-7.JA1.tar
/c1130-k9w7-mx.123-7.JA1
This tar9s everything in the folder /c1130-k9w7-mx.123-7.JA1 to tar
file
called c1130-k9w7-mx.123-7.JA1.tar
(200+ files in 20+ folders)
(On the AP9s everything except the config file is in a folder)
So on the non working one I used the aironet ROMmon equivalent (called
ap:
mode) to wipe the flash and copy the ios. Then I booted into the ios
(tons
of errors because non of the software for the radio was on the flash)
then
I copied over the tar from the first step and then ran
Archive tar /xtract <tar file from step 1> /<folder to put it in>
Actual commands were....
ap2#mkdir c1130-k9w7-mx.123-7.JA1
ap2#archive tar /xtract c1130-k9w7-mx.123-7.JA1.tar
/c1130-k9w7-mx.123-7.JA1
This created all folders and files.
I then deleted the original IOS that I used for recovery and rebooted.
The first time I did this it took an hour... The second one took 5
minutes...
Email direct at the address below if I can help further
