 Wow... NOW I feel old.

Thanks, Tyson. ;)

Nice DEC TTY terminals (80x25) into a VAX in college (88-92). Before
that, wonderful modem/BBS world... Tymnet, all the good old days before
Compu$erve. :)

*sigh*

  Dale,

I thought I was dating myself by saying this stuff was on my CCIE test. I
had never even really used a computer until the end of 1998, so you made me
  feel better ;)

Could you imagine how annoying an 80 character screen would be if all of

What about troubleshooting a mainframe application where the connection is
coming from non-canonical address X and you are looking at the endpoint

  but

can't find X because it is displayed in canonical format.

It all depends on what you are doing at the time.

Both fair comments, but how hard would it be for Cisco to implement a
command line parameter in IOS to switch the output format behaviour?

I think the last time I was forced to use an 80x25 terminal was when I
was running Telix in DOS to connect to a dial-up BBS in 1994 :-)

  Cheers,
  Dale
