The integrity of the program has begun it's final decent to irrelevance. One has to wonder what this is supposed to achieve.
The appeal the program had was, the depth of knowledge a successful candidate had, the isolation of the qwacks from the experts, exclusivity implied by the fact that cisco's seal of approval & high standards stood behind a candidate. In one swoop, they have relegated the certification to nothing more than a professional level cert, Based on the fact that most of us know someone who passed one of the CCXPs in less than 2 weeks, the wisdom in Cisco's decision is questionable.

If the rogues in Asia who ship out CCIEs like toyota recalls it's vehicles from the market were having fun before, wait and see how comical this move will be. What a shame..those jokers in the board rooms need to loosen their ties & stop think from their backends.

Maybe that's another reason why so few Vue centers are chosen. Perhaps these sites have the backend infrastructure (redundant point to points, etc). Running into PC problems at VUE for the Lab is a little more concerning than a $150 written exam.

Again, if you're wondering about the food, I think you're wasting mental energy that could be focused on studying or enjoying life!

I'm not fond of the idea because I still feel that this devalues the
certification regardless of what Cisco says. I'm still going to continue
forward but I am not pleased with the decision. I'm looking forward to
hearing some candidate feedback from folks who go to Pearson. How
completely horrible is the food? How does the proctor piece get handled?
Will it be a marketing opportunity for Ciscos collaboration products? Will
results be handled the same way? Will the real lab (just as troubleshooting
is now) be virtualized or will we be remotely hitting some rack in SJ or
RTP? Lots of questions.

PS: I was kinda joking about Slapout. Any test I can take there is not
worth taking...

I'm assuming (and we all know that means) is because of the proximity to
Cisco's main offices and/or the caliber of these testing centers. I know
I've taken the written exams and they don't look anything like this testing

I would say this is pretty bittersweet. On one hand, it'll be easier to
get to a test center, the other, I won't be able to see how awesome a true
Cisco campus really is.

I really want to take the Chicago Lab, but is this only offered in April.
I'm hoping this is a pilot and perhaps it's something they'll look at doing
in the future.

In my experience, if there's a paper CCIE, they'll be weeded out when
they're on the job. I know when I go in and pass, I'll know I earned it,
without brain dumps and know what I'm doing. OR I'll have the knowhow and
ingenuity to find the solution.
