RE: autonegotiation protocol

Actually there is negotiation done during link up status with both GE and
10GE Fiber connections. It can be disabled but isn't recommended. This is
per the IEEE 802.3z (1000 Mbps) standard of negotiating with its remote
partner to establish a network connection.
