 Sure it's an option ....

 I personally feel it's a waste of money as there other options out there
that are a lot more economical. As far as the set of switches coming out to
3K , well congrats for working for a partner and having the ability to
purchase at the discounted rate just realize that many are not in the same
boat. Now having said that, I currently work in the field and managed more
than my fare share of Cisco Systems little boxes , including 3560's so I
have "spares" that i currently play with, but again not everyone is in the
same boat.

 I'm not crying ; I have no need to purchase hardware as I have a full lab
20 feet from my cubicle, but not eveyone has the same employment perks.

 Spending all that money to accomplish the same thing is not something i
would personally brag about.

 To each their own ...
