I don't mean you need to work with ALL technologies, but why pursue a
certification if you are not going to use it for your work? My personal works
consists for most part of consultancy for practically all major ISPs in The
Netherlands, besides that I'm doing R&S / Datacenter projects. Currently I'm
not involved in Security stuff at work, but once I get further with my
Security studies I will definitely take some Security projects as well.
It's impossible to do 'CCIE' work every day of course, but you need to stay
working on the technologies you learned, else you will forget a lot of it
which is a big loss.
Another thing, you don't need to be working on it NOW, but your ambition might
be to work on a specific technology field like Service Provider stuff. Then it
makes sense to start pursuing the CCIE SP title. You have to like what you are
doing :-)
Quite some people now start pursuing the SP track, after the R&S, just to get
'another' CCIE. Which is not the way it should be in my opinion.
Again, just my 2cts (makes it 4cts now already :-)
Narbik - Haha where did you pick up the Dutch?
