Sure you can.

 

There are caveats depending on the hardware that is used, but 12.0S
definitely supports interworking

ran into this at work. you cant do different interface types at the ends of

the xconnect on older IOS. (FR to Eth, T1 to ATM, ect..)

 

newer code (cant remember the exact IOS) does support this.
