It looks like all the other people who agree with a CCIE who can't
score a 50 consistently is a super genius. I don't think it is a
devaluation. This is the standard people who are CCIE's are willing to
accept. Since they can afford to be 50% less CCIE then they will
understand when people only want to pay them 50% of the value of a
CCIE who could score 80 consistently.
It all works out. What it means is that people need to really give a
CCIE an interview when hiring. Do you want someone who can do the job
or only half of it? This is the standard of the CCIE now. This is not
good or bad. It just is. The CCIE community says this is ok and
defends this. So it is normal.
