Here is a tip for you.
OEQ - I was expecting CCNA or maybe CCNP level questions based on what I
heard from some blogs. So when I got the first question I was oh sh*t,
this is a hard one. Then the next question I was like, wait a minute
this is some "if you studied for CCIE then you should know this" type
question. I acutally passed this part.
On the troubleshooting section initially I opened too many windows. So
I was getting a little bit lost with regards to which console screen I
should be on. So I formulated a plan to only open the devices I needed
to resolved the issue. Once I was done I closed out the windows. This
made it much easiser to navigate throught the rest of the trouble
tickets without screen clutter. With the exception of two or three
tickets I thought the troubleshooting section was fairly
straightforward. If you have configured it, debug it, and broke it, and
fixed it. You shouldn't have a problem with troubleshooting.
The config part; I'm still formulating a strategy to deal with the
clutter. The biggest problem with screen clutter - you know sometimes
when you want to go back and read the lab do's and don't's or go back
and look at question you had in the beginning of the exam, well before
you could just flip the page, now you have to locate the window then
navigate backwards within that window. If I had another monitor I could
have just park it on the other screen.
I didn't get a chance to take the entire exam due to technical
difficulties.
It is interesting to know have any of the Vendors actually taken the
V4.0 lab. INE released a troubleshooting workbook. Is it presented in
similar format as the real lab?
If the mock labs cannot replicate the setup of the V4.0 lab it will take
you about 20 to 30 minutes to get comfortable with the real thing.

I think this is just a matter of convenience more than anything. Takes
a little getting used to, but not a show stopper - in my opinion.
I very seriously doubt that anyone who has failed can truly blame the
interface.
Again, just my opinion. But since I am one of the monkeys who found a
way not to pass last week, I figured I would chime in :)

So any idea on when Cisco will resolve the screen clutter issue or what
their future plans are? It seems archaic. Why not let CCIE candidates
work with the best tools?
