Hi Rob,
If the nortel doesn't run VTP or other protocols which use the same mac
(e.g. DTP, UDLD, CDP - and I presume it doesn't) then it would not process
the VTP payload itself, just switch the frame out.
The Nortel will not recognise the destination mac used by VTP
(0100.0ccc.cccc) as having any special significance, so it will be passed
through like any other transit frame in that vlan. The bit you may not like
so much is that the Nortel will also flood it out all the other ports it has
in vlan 1, since it will never have a source port associated with that mac.
You would not want DTP negotiating through a third party switch, and should
disable it on the ports.
