RIP using IOS 12.4, accept-lifetime and send-lifetime

regarding RIP

"use the accept-lifetime and send-lifetime command under IOS 12.4,
otherwise, it4ll not work! "

i read that on some ccie's blog,
try to duplicate using ios 12.4(2)T1 to see any error, but get nothing

routes exhange still succeed
any idea ?
