Ravi,
As I suggested in my last email, you can do one of two ways:

1) You have a card that SUPPORTS vlan tagging but you don't create the vlans
in your network management software. You use the softswitch in dynamips and
specify dot1q for one of the ports - I don't like this method myself. It's
too limiting.
2) You create as many vlans as you need which in turn create that many
logical subinterfaces (the 20 you noticed) and you specify them as physical
interfaces - leave the softswitch out of it. I like this method better -
it's cleaner and leaves more room for expansion. I also run vmware on the
same server and I'm able to add an acs server or a test workstation by just
loading up the VM and running an extra cable from the breakout switch to my
real switches. It's pretty nice I think.

Sounds like your half way through #2.
