I'd still be curious about the result of debuging the arp output. I've seen
a couple of strange issues with arp - or at least strange results/output.

Let me know - I'd be interested to hear the results.

Hi Darby,

I have forwarded it to the L1 they are telling that recently they did a IOS
upgrade on this switch after which they are facing the problem. Will let you
know when I hear from them. Thanks so much for the response..

Hmmm...

The middle one is an HSRP mac. What are the other two.

Have you spanned the port and collected a trace?

Have you considered a static arp entry? (Not going to fix the problem).

Does the switch have any know issues? I'm sure you've probably ran it
through the output interpreter by now.

Even your aging time is 2 minutes and not 2 seconds.

Unless the documentation is incorrect.

What does debug arp look like?

I think there is no issues with the config part as it was working fine
previously. It's a pre-configured switch for one of our customers whom we

Sorry....

I did not see this at first:

switchport port-security aging time 2

Why?

Remove this command and try it:

Hi All,

(I am a member of groupstudy but as we don't have access to yahoo inside
here I am sending from my cisco ID.)

I have a switch 3750.scenario is like this:

Port fa1/0/14 of the switch is connected to a printer whose ip is
10.101.25.141. I am able to ping the printer from switch and after pinging
it I can see it in the arp table but within couple of seconds or when I do
clear arp I loose the printer from my arp table and left with only two
entries.

sALBEles70#sh arp
Protocol Address Age (min) Hardware Addr Type Interface
Internet 10.101.25.26 - 0025.46fe.5641 ARPA Vlan25
Internet 10.101.25.10 7 0000.0c07.ac19 ARPA Vlan25
Internet 10.101.25.141 0 0007.4d2d.ee88 ARPA Vlan25

sALBEles70#sh run int fa1/0/14
Building configuration...

Current configuration : 473 bytes
!
interface FastEthernet1/0/14
switchport access vlan 25
switchport mode access
switchport port-security maximum 5
switchport port-security
switchport port-security aging time 2
switchport port-security violation restrict
switchport port-security aging type inactivity
no logging event link-status
no logging event power-inline-status
storm-control broadcast level 30.00
storm-control action shutdown
spanning-tree portfast
spanning-tree bpduguard enable
end

I have tried increasing the arp timeout of the interface to 1 min but no
joy. TAC has replaced the switch two times but still no joy. Wonder why the
arp table is not holding the printer's entry. Any Clue????

Thank you,
