Check out http://www.voip-info.org/ You might have to use the search function there... By default, the phone comes installed with SKINNY, you'll need to convert it (by hand most likely) to SIP. The process can be easy sometimes or laborious other times...

The configuring IP (aka "it's spinning") is most likely due to your tftp server not having all the proper files (xml default etc...), option 150 not being set. I'm sure you'll find plenty of useful information about how to convert your 7960 to be used with Asterisk and I think the 3rd party sip load is somewhere in the high 8.x revisions.

This is not TAC, they won't support you on this anyhow since you're using 3rd party SIP, and it's really not even the right board.

Are you studying for your CCIE lab or did someone tell you this was a good place to extract information from people?
