Hi Anantha,

EIGRP combines these Poison reverse and Split Horizon to help prevent
routing loops.

EIGRP uses split horizon or Poison reverse when:

1) 2 Routers are in startup mode
2) advertise the topology change
3) sending queries

Poison reverse makes the route as unreachable means it sends the Metric as
INFINITY.
For RIP = 16
For EIGRP = 4.1 Billon (32 Bit)
For IGRP = 26 Bit

This is my understanding based on the articles & books. If I am deviating
from the concept, Experts, please correct me
