Whilst I agree it's good to know about these more advanced features -
I'm speculating here that MPLS on the R&S lab will only be a handful
of points in terms of all the other things you need to get done.
The blueprint says:
4.00 Implement MPLS Layer 3 VPNs
4.10 Implement Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)
4.20 Implement Layer 3 virtual private networks (VPNs) on provider
edge (PE), provider (P), and customer edge (CE) routers
4.30 Implement virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) and Multi-VRF
Customer Edge (VRF-Lite)
Considering there are another 75 odd topic areas listed on the
blueprint, the chances of having to do anything more fancy than some
ldp/tdp, vpnv4 peering and simple CE/PE routing is unlikely.
But given that VRF-Lite is explicitly mentioned on the topic-list you
should spend time to understand capability vrf-lite and what the
down-bit means to you, possibly sham-links and domain-id and how these
can help overcome problems.
Just my $0.02.
