Hi Rameez,

The purpose of ip pim rp-announce filter which is only used on the Mapping
Agent is to filter RP announcements from undesired RP candidates. Suppose
that you want only 2 RPs in your network with IPs (1.1.1.1) and (1.1.1.2). A
rogue RP sends RP announcements to the Mapping agent, the MA accepts any RP
advertisements and also tells the other client routers about this RP.The ip
pim rp announce filter is used on the MA to decide which RPs it wants to
accept the advertisement from.
