Green,
The fastest way is practice them. I do it for every lab now regardless how
easy the L2 is. You just have to get it down to about 30 mins, which also
includes reading the entire lab, and making your task/points list. I started
out with big diagrams to help with visual and then scaled them down to fit
on a normal piece of paper. This will allow you to put in more details later
if needed, but then shorten them up with L=LACP, P=PAgP etc.
The same thing should apply to all the diagrams you do. You will get faster,
but I would not rely on putting everything in a diagram either. Notes are
always a good bet. It really depends on what you need or want to see, but
practice is the best way.
