Well I'm not sure I ever implied that. The 'grey market' trainers (whatever
that means) do a first class job, particularly for those of us outside of
Cisco. They have helped many people get certified by providing structure
whether Cisco or non Cisco employees. I think particularly for non Cisco
people. Folks holding live infrastructure together in the field where Cisco
devices are deployed without in house training i.e ASET or impetus to get
certfied and time to do it. Heck I spend whole days just dealing with change
control process or in meetings with PMs in the design space as opposed to
logging on. Implementors carry out my instructions in my low level designs. I
do some investigations on live devices to help ascertain the 'best' network
solution, but most hands on goes on after 9PM at home thanks to Cisco Press
and Vendor labs.
There are a wide ranges of resources out there for non Cisco employees. CCO is
one and it's certainly helped me out in the past.

Correct sorry should have tagged it.
But if you think no longer having a generous supply of competent trainers
who are awesome and unique is not relevant, I guess that is ok too.
