Some truth in that for sure. But I think for a few years many CCIE's (and non
CCIE's for that matter) have been designing a lot of stuff as a matter of
course as opposed to a Cert hiatus in design. Many with the job title of
Infrastructure Architect to boot. The IE remains expert but perhaps it was
more expert 'Cisco Jockey' as opposed to designer?
There is so much more to Infrastructure Design than going all out Cisco. In
some cases that would be most unwise. I assume there is plenty of scope for
that reality in this CCA track? Brainwashed designers are a nuisance.

Certification: Cisco Certified Architect
Joe... just take it easy as this announcement is impacting us all. CCIE was
always a "support" or "operations" oriented certification but CCIEs were also
doing Design and Architect work as there was no other higher level cert. Cisco
knew it and hence introduced CCDE and now CCA. It is just evolution and not
revolution so just take it easy.

Yeah really...I don't want to sound too upset here, but I feel like I
just
got kicked in the balls. How do the rest of you CCIEs out there feel
about
this announcement, since in my opinion we have all essentially been
demoted?

I give up too. I'm just way too busy working as a Network Designer to
keep
up with all that stuff!
