Molomo, I would think that to try an perhaps "skip" certain areas and hope to
pass would be a mistake. I think clearly you need to have the core topics down
pat and then perhaps the secondary areas to a lesser degree but still
understand the concepts. I could be wrong but it seems like you are looking to
know if you can just forget points in some non-core areas and still pass,
remember if you miss something or a couple of things in the core you may very
well need the secondary area points to pass.

That would depend on your specific lab. And would have been up to the
person/group who designed it.

Some, perhaps.... Some, not. But if you don't do well on those core
topics, I feel pretty safe to say that it's impossible to pass!
