Re: From CCIE R&S to R&S+SP -- commitment required

Dale,

I did it in about 3 weeks of study over a 6-8 week period, a year and a bit
after my R&S (wish I'd done it sooner). It was markedly easier to study for
because, as someone else said, you already know the L2 protocols (besides
ATM, PPPoE and AToMPLS) and you know OSPF and the other PE-CE protocols. My
main resources were, well, you can guess which vendor and extensive use of
the Cisco Documentation on ATM and AToMPLS. I'd done my CCIP already, so I
knew the basics of MPLS and MPLS TE going in and IS-IS from BSCI as I'd
taught that a few years prior.

It's a logical completion to your R&S knowledge to do SP and I think you'll
find it fun and a lot shorter a journey than your R&S one was (mine was 11
months including the massive reading load for the written).

PS I'm in Canberra too, right now.
