I've ran into a couple older deployments that erroneously have a ZX GBIC
with a single mode connection into another switch with a LX/LH SFP (the
span is < 100feet without attenuation on either end). These links have
been up for years like this. I always thought the following about Cisco
optics in regard to frequency.
Sx = 850
LX/LH=1310
ZX=1550
If this is indeed the case, how is the link brought up between optics
running different frequencies?
