Synchronous and ASynchronous

Hi,

I want to is this possible to connect Synchronous Serial interface (WIC-1T)
to an external CDMA Modem with RS-232 port (9pin). Or do i need Asynchronous
serial interface (WIC-2A/S). Can you please explain how it works in this
scenario?
