RE: Issues in CCIE lab initial configs

Hi,
 
My personal approach was to fix layer 2, then layer 3, and not worry about what they broke.
 
Just sweep it up as you go along.
 
Be careful how you ask your questions though, as it can come across as if you are fishing for information that could be considered NDA.
 
If you have done the practise labs, you will be fine, just remember, they are not there to fail you, thats up to you to achieve that.
 
Dont panic, there is plenty of time, just read the question, not what you think it should be, but what they want. READ carefully.

I have to agree with Jared...but again it is just personal preference. For
me, I find that if I just skip things like that I tend to not pay enough
attention to details later, and end up missing easy points that I should
have caught. My attack plan (that worked first attempt) for troubleshooting
was to look at all the running-configs before starting the config
portion...go through and fix everything so that I had basic IP connectivity
-- In other words make sure every router can ping every other router it is
attached to without using routing ...routers on the same ethernet segment,
routers directly attached to serial interfaces, and of course your frame.
Only then did I start doing anything from the lab workbook. Just my 2
cents.

I'd do exactly the opposite and fix the errors first before starting my
configuration. Just my opinion. Both approaches should work if you know what
you are doing well. :)

Hello,

I find it easier to just skip this part and fix the issues while doing the
lab itself. I've noticed im much faster in seeing something that doesnt work
when testing the connection/debugging then looking for something at the
beginning in possibly big initial configs.

Just my opinion ofcourse :P
