    It's not a loophole - it's just the way the CCIE recertification
goes. :) When you recertify, the additional two years are counted from
the previous recertification deadline, not from the date you actually
take the recertification exam.

    It was a pleasant surprise for me when (only months after passing
the CCIE RS lab) I passed the Security written, and found that the
recertification deadline has been pushed more than two years into the
future. But if you read (between the lines :P ) the recertification
requirements, you'll see that's the way it's supposed to be.

    However, don't think there's no limit here - according to the same
requirements, the recertification exam must be passed in the 24 months
preceding the deadline. So you cannot push your deadline more than 4
years in the future.
