I would think questions related to timers, seconds to detect a change, or
transition after a change...
Additional thoughts:
1) port xx will have a server / host installed and will never have a switch
installed, but if a switch is detected ...
2) configure the links between sw1 and sw2 to begin forwarding after x
amount of seconds. Configure this port to detect a link failure after x
seconds ...etc ..
3) configure sw1 to detect if an uplink goes out on sw2 and for stp to react
accordingly
4) port xx will have a 3rd party hub attached to it. In the past there have
been problems with this hub. When a link change occurs, configure it to
transition after x seconds
5) (not really related to stp ...) ... port xx should have port yy as it's
backup. Traffic should not go through port yy as long as port xx is up.
stp should not be used to provide this
6) multiple linkks between sw1 and sw2 exist, configure the switch to enable
the second link immediately if the first one goes out
I hope this helps Ryan, take care,
Andrew
