When I took the lab exam, you could not even PING them. Students have
reported to me that lately, they are at least capable of being PINGed.
As the crew from IPExpert pointed out, you should really practice
touching them less and less as you get closer to your lab date. Some
of the most daunting tasks are those you cannot verify as a result of
not being able to "see" in the backbone.
