For the record:
I'm not necessarily happy about all the changes, sicne I first set my eyes
on this plumb and started forking over all my cash and sold my soul... and
started investing in the Power Company...
I've watched a lot of technologies come and go like these:
IPX, ISDN, Appletalk, IS-IS, ATM/LS1010, Vines, LANE, LAT, DLSW+, Cat 5000,
Cat 3920 and the list goes one and yep - I still got a lot of this stuff in
the house....
And never mind losing points for IP Addressing, Drawing a Diagram, Cabling
the Rack, Troubleshooting, and Setting Up a Terminal Server etc. - +/- 25
Points right there alone.
Remember a few short years ago - ISDN was a staggering 7 points, ATM was
another 3 points, Appletalk and maybe an ACL was say 5 points... IPX was
about 7 points if you could get it right. DLSW+ was maybe 6-7 points. The
3920 was a simple 2 points.
About 50+ points total - most of us would consider this "easy" by today's
standards - of course one must consider that training was not always readily
available nor was it affordable or either it may not have been accessible,
etc. So thos generations of CCIE's had their own challenges too.
Times do change.
