One of my biggest pet peeves about all of this is the fact that the
questions were originally billed as OPEN ENDED.
They are simply not Open Ended. They are Short Answer.
I presume the reason they are not Open Ended is this would make the
proctor grading much too subjective.
Anyhow, here are some recent additions to our database for you reading
pleasure. One of these originally used a diagram but I had to re-write
for the GS post.
Q: What Cisco QoS mechanism prevents poor bandwidth utilization as a
result of the sliding windows TCP practice?
A: Weighted Random Early Detection
More Information: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/qos/configuration/guide/congestion_avoidance_ps6350_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html
Instructor Tip: Cisco's WRED protects against the problems caused by
Global Synchronization.
Q: Examine the configuration shown in the Exhibit below. What version
of WCCP is in use?
configure terminal
ip wccp 10 group-list 1 password cisco
!
interface fastethernet0/0
ip wccp 10 redirect in
A: WCCP Version 2
More Information: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_2/configfun/configuration/guide/fcf018_ps1835_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html
Instructor Tip: WCCP Version 2 permits you to redirect traffic beyond
simple HTTP traffic. It is the default WCCP version, and allows you to
specify a Service Group Number for different Web services.
Q: What Layer 3 redundancy protocol features the use of an AVG and AVF?
A: Gateway Load Balancing Protocol
More Information: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_2t/12_2t15/feature/guide/ft_glbp.html#wp1039649
Instructor Tip: GLBP uses the concept of an Active Virtual Gateway
(AVG) for a group of redundant devices. Also shown here are Active
Virtual Forwarders (AVF).
