The answer to your question is here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/mpls/command/reference/mp_m2.html#wp1012008

"If the interface is an LC-ATM interface, no transport address is explicitly advertised in LDP discovery hello messages sent from
the interface."

Subject: TDP default behavior

Folks ,
on ATM cell mode , does the TDP establish the session from the loopback or from the interface ??

my understanding is that both LDP and TDP establish the TCP session from the loopbacks by default ( so the loopback should be known
to both sides for the session to come up )

but on ATM cell mode , even though the loopback of the other end is not known on each router , the session is coming up normally ?

am i missing something ?

thanks in advace
