The data MDT is an optimized MDT consisting of just the PEs requiring
participation in the associated multicast stream. It serves a good purpose
by reducing traffic going to non participating PEs. I agree with Rick. If
there's some language in the question referring to 'optimized' traffic
flows, saving core capacity, or a threshold is provided, then you'll want to
configure an MDT range. A threshold of 1 would probably be fine if one
isn't specified.
