Reza,
You are right.
VPC supports only layer 2.
You can have l3 chn on VSS and l2 chnl on Nexus and create SVI's on
Nexus.
HTH,
Ahamed

Virtual Port Channel (VPC)
Hello Ahmed,
Thanks for your help, actually I already asked our local Cisco office,
but I didn't receive any reply yet, they say as nexus is a new product
they must check.
But there is another limit in vPC, it only supports Layer 2 ether
chanels.
But my requirement is asking for layer 3 etherchannel.
Finally I decided to create 2 Layer 3 ether channels, from the VSS to
each Nexus, load balancing using a routing protocol such as OSPF.
Thanks
Reza

Hello Reza,
It should work !! From 6k VSS/Nexus point of view, it just connected to
other system.
But you have to keep in mind that VSS is virtually one system but Nexus
is two different systems but vpc is only to have singlelogical ether
channel.
While you are designing the network make sure the traffic is not sent
across the links between the Nexus systems.

Ahamed

Virtual Port Channel (VPC)
Hello,
Thanks for your responses.
Nexus vPC works fine with normal etherchannels, easily works in "on" or
"Lacp" mode and brings the portchannel UP. Only the Layer 2 Port
channels are allowed. Only 10GB physical interfaces are allowed. Needs
keepalives to monitor the link.
VSS MEC also works fine with normal etherchannels, easily forms in "on"
or "lacp" or "pagp" and brings the portchannel UP. Needs a protocol to
monitor the DAD.
But my question is that is it possible to create an etherchannel link
between 2 CAT6500 VSS with MEC and 2 NEXUS 7000 with vPC ?
Or in other way is MEC compatible with vPC?
Thanks
Reza

Also something to keep in mind is that nexus only support LACP and not
PaGP.

Yes, Nexus supports vPC's since 4.13. Current version on CCO is 4.1.4
and recomended.
