I think the default values depend on the switch...there's a conflicting doc
@ *http://tinyurl.com/dec6ls* its says there ...

if the lowest priority of any switch is above 8192 then the switch where the
macro is given as root it will make its priority 8192... and if the other
switches have their priority set to something less than 8192 then.. the root
macro sets the priority to one less than the priroirty of teh lowest birdge
priodrity making the bridge the root.!
