Good idea in some ways, i never thought about that before.
I guess one downside might be if they have pre-configured some switch ports
for you in the lab. They might not be a task to change or configure these
ports your self. But saying that you should pick this up in a quick ping
test once your layer 2 network is up.
I reckon its a good idea overall, but be interesting to see what others say.
