When you are pinging from the vrf interface with icmp debug enabled on both
the ends, do you see at least the icmp request coming to the ce ?

Hi Peter,
Is the mdt tunnel is up for the remote site ?
can you see the remote vrf as the pim nei through mdt tunnel ?
Once the mdt tunnel is up, and if the ce, remote ce, and the respective pe
vrf's knows the RP you should be good to go..
Thanks
AbuFareed

Hi ,
I faced the same issue before and that command was the solution , the MDT
tunnel is not intiated from the loopback address and this command forces to
do that .
I have another question for the same topology , in brief when i have two VPN
sites and MDT tunnel running between them ..on one site i have RP and the
other site i have multicast source (just pinging ).., when i try to issue ping
command to multicast address from the VRF interface , i do not get reply ...or
i get reply once in while , while if the ping is intiated from the remote
interface (the CE) of the same subnet i get normal reply ....is there any
explanation for that ..is this normal behavior ?
thanks in advance
