Re: Failing from oral part of lab exam

I think there are a few things that factor in here, and anxiety is
definately one of them. However, don't assume that because one persons
questions were easy that the same goes for someone else. I suspect that as
time goes on that the OEQ's will grow to be more ambiguous. I also think the
proctor should let the candidate know that they did not pass this section
early in the day rather than have the individual sit for 8 hours working on
a lab that there will be no way to pass. Or maybe Cisco should change the
grading and give the questions a point value just like any other question in
the test.

I just don't see the value in failing someone on the OEQ's alone for the lab
exam. If the intent is to curb cheating, then the candidate should not be
taking the rest of the lab. If the intent is to stop "lab memorization" and
encourage actual learning, then the grading script needs to be tossed and
each test should be actually graded by a proctor.

Granted the questions may sometimes by very straightforward, but who's to
say that will always be the case?

Again, just my opinion, which is not worth the time it took to read it.
Trust me, I'm not as bitter as I may sound! :-) ( smiley face makes it all
okay! ) I'm still working at it, so I must think there's something good to
be gained. I guess I should get back to the learning and focus a little less
on my negativity! :-)

Richard, I truly do sympathize and I think it's foolish for anyone here (who
has not already passed) to think the same think could not happen to them.
