Hi GS,
I want to setup SMARTS tool in my network to monitor the Internet link and
other links as well.
As my links are terminated on ehternet ports from service provider unlike
they terminate on Router's serial interface.
I wanted to know which ip address of my Internet router interface should i
advertise in the SMARTS tool to get the alert in my Tool
Please look at the following data-
Router Internet is terminated on a Ethernet port Fa0/3 & Fa0/4 and
configured with a BGP protocol.
Loop backaddress is also configured for these above two interface for
sending the BGP protocol information via these Loopbacks.
neighbor X.X.X.X update-source Loopback1 - ISP A
neighbor X.X.X.X update-source Loopback2 - ISP B
As Internet link termination happening over here on a Ethernet port which
will not go down even though the Link is down .
Looking for a solution how SMARTS will recognise and show alarms in these
circumstances.
Also does it recognise Protocols ( BGP/OSPF) down /up stauts.
I request you to please unicast me your suggestion .
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Akber Mirza.
