I concur Tony. LWAPs are a breeze to setup and configure. I did a little
password recovery and OS upgrade video:

(It's not done yet, hence the name, test. Got a few verbage errors in
terms of the versions I was mentioning that I need to fix)

I respectfully disagree with the statement about the costly and time
consuming to convert to LW AP's.

Yes, it could be costly and time comsuming if you were to manually
convert
each one and do one at a time. Who in their right mind would do so?

I just completed a project where 250 Autonomous AP's were converted in
about
5 minutes each and it was all automated through the WCS.

Yes, it took about 2 hours to setup, but the ROI is realized almost
immediately with regards to support and onging management.

400 APs WOW. One assumes these have been around awhile. Do you have a
WLSE - it will make things a lot easier?
It will be costly and time consuming converting them all to LW APs, if
they
can be converted.
You can have multiple SSIDs. The problem you will run into security and
IP
addressing.
If you want the same security and subnets on all SSIDs, no problem just
add
them on each AP, can be done by cut and paste, or script. CiscoWorks
could
probably handle this for you.
If you want different subnets or security, or both they VLANs are needed
with the appropriate Router config. Again this can be done by cut and
paste,
or script. Plenty of info on the Cisco Web site for that.
