I finally took my lab exam for the first time yesterday at RTP. That was
far more stressful for me than jumping out of planes and I don't
particularly enjoy heights. I had a headache / migraine the entire exam due
to nerves...not much fun. Howard did a great and very professional job at
proctoring and tried to make the environment as relaxed and comfortable as
possible though.
Surprisingly, I was done in about 4 hours. I spent the rest of the time
re-reading tasks and cleaning up my config's. Obviously I can't go into
details, but all I can recommend to people who haven't tested yet is to pay
VERY close attention to the wording and try to get done early enough that
you can go back and re-read the tasks and double / triple check your work.
I can't think of how many questions I had where I didn't catch all of the
requirements for a given task until the 3rd or 4th time I read them.
Also, I have to send a shout out to Anthony Sequiera. I attended a bootcamp
of his a while back. Unfortunately, I spent part of the class doing
business travel, but he was kind enough to let me keep in touch with him and
he almost always has words of encouragement. Thanks Anthony!
