And just a quick follow-up on this, DocCD IOS ver 12.3:

default for originate (OSPF) would be 1 and for redistribute (OSPF)
would be 20, all in line with reality.
12.4 is as poorly documented as always... or they have intentions of
changing protocol foundations. :-)

Nick, I think you are safe with "default-metric 20" under router ospf
xxx. What do the solution say btw? :-)
