Ben, that was true before.
Before autorp listener command, we had to use "ip pim sparse-dense-mode"
command to enable AutoRP message propagation. That mode allowed falling back
to DM when RP was not present for a certain group (per-group fallback)
But as it was already mentioned, there is "ip pim autorp listener command"
now, which does not allow fallback to DM.
With that command, all interfaces are configured using "ip pim sparse-mode".
