Hi All,
just to verify on this concept.
Task - Configure OSPF Area 51 so that neither inter and intra-area routes are
permitted into Area51 via ABR R1
BB1 f0/0 > RIP > f0/0 R5 f0/1 > OSFP Area 51 > f0/0 R1 f0/1 > Area 0
R5 - ASBR doing mutual redistribution
R1 - ABR
My understanding is only 'NSSA' is allowed in this scenario because of the
external routes from BB1, and by making R1 'nssa no-summary' and R5 'nssa',
only LSA1,2, default 3 are allowed into Area 51 via ABR R1.
How do i go about preventing 'intra-area' routes from entering Area51 via ABR
R1? i did a simple test, created another loopback on R1 and advertised it into
Area51. The only way is to use a distribute-list on R5 to filter it off, in
this manner, the intra-area routes are still permitted into Area51 via ABR
R1.
Cheers
Nit
