By this do you mean that you've issued the 'parser config cache int'
command? It definitely speeds things up on physical routers (note: an
initial 'sh run' is required to cache the running-config to start with, so
the display is sped up on the second and all subsequent 'sh run' commands).
I just tried it in Dynamips and it did seem that I noticed a difference.
Mind you, though, I just had a default config and thus I think I shaved a
two-second delay to a one-second delay - could have just been wishful
thinking on my part...

    From what I recall, a real router does the same thing (it has a
noticeable delay when doing "show run"). So I doubt you will be able to
"solve" the problem... :)
