Same here. It seems that this is the general opinion, i.e. sit back
and see how February goes. I really hope that Cisco marketing
realizes that they go nowhere with such low passing rates, even if
they make CCDE a requirement for gold partners to drive more interest
in certification. I mean, 7% would be a normal CCIE passing rate for
the general public, except that most beta candidates were already
multiple CCIE's. If the February passing rate improves, that would be
a good signal.
My concern is that there is no way to asses our progress other that
taking the exam again - which is a pretty expensive approach.
Otherwise, I am planning to read the most of those books and see if
this helps next time. Again, I really hope that until my next attempt
Cisco releases some helpful guidance for the practical.
It is doable, anyway.
