The exam is currently at v3.1. The book that maps to this version is the
Cisco Press "Exam Certification Guide." It's vitally important that you
have the 3rd Edition of the book! The 2nd Edition does not map well at all
to the current exam (I know, I sat v3.0 when it very first came out and
there was no 3rd Edition available at the time).
I just wrapped up reading that book a few days ago and am reviewing all of
the "Key Topics" sections now. Also, if you uncover any weak areas as
you're reading through, pay careful attention to the "Additional Reading"
section at the end of each chapter Doyle Vol I and II are, of course, very
helpful when you need to drill down deeper than the Cert Guide takes you.
On the whole, I like the book. I recently posted on my reservations about
coverage depth on key topics such as BGP, but you can find other sources.
In fact, since some of the information in the BGP section is just dead
wrong, I would suggest only a quick review of this chapter (or skipping it
altogether) and have yourself a good read of Halabi's "Internet Routing
Architectures" instead.
Happy studies!
Scott

Subject: Best Book for Written
Hey Guys,
I have to recertify in a few months and I'd like to start the studying for
the written.
What book would you guys say is the best right now for this purpose. I
wonder if there is anything like the Exam Cram books that used to be out for
CCNP certification?
Thanks
